LARAMIE, Wyo. (Feb. 25, 2021) – With the regular season wrapped up and the Wyoming Wrestling squad is set to compete at the Big 12 Championships in Tulsa, Okla., on March 6-7. Let's hear from some of our Cowboys as they reflect on the season and prepare for Big 12's.

Cole Moody is one of three Cowboys to notch 11 wins this season, highlighted by an eight-match winning streak during which he won the Utah Valley Round Robin Tournament. Moody is currently ranked as high as 23rd in the nation at 165 pounds.

What has been your favorite match or moment so far, this season?

My favorite match for me this season was our home opener against Northern Colorado because I was able to go out there and change the momentum for our team with the pin.

How has it been to wrestle in front of none or very limited fans?

It has been a little weird to not see as many fans when we are competing but it doesn't bother me too much.

With this being a unique season, has it been nice to wrestle uncommon opponents?

Yeah, I like being able to wrestle different teams and guys I normally wouldn't be able to wrestle during a normal season.

What has been the biggest challenge for you this season and how have you overcome it?

The biggest thing for me this season was just believing in myself and when I went on that 8-match win streak it really helped me to believe that I should be in the rankings.

What is your mindset now heading into Big 12's?

My mindset now is just getting ready physically and mentally and not taking anything for granted because last year I wasn't able to qualify for NCAA so this year I really want to show out so I can make it to St. Louis.

How did it feel to start the season off with a pin in front of a home crowd?

Being able to start the season off with a pin was a huge moment for me and really got me even more fired up for the rest of the season.

What was your mindset during your 8-match win streak this season?

My mindset was just to go out there and wrestle my match and don't let anyone slow me down or try to derail the way that I wrestle.

Coming up next we talk to the Cowboys 174 pounder, and No. 8 ranked Hayden Hastings
