LARAMIE, Wyo. — The Cowboys and Cowgirls are ready to get the 2021-22 Indoor Track & Field season started this weekend from the Hager-LeBar Indoor Track at War Memorial Fieldhouse with the annual Power Meet and multis.
The meet will get started on Friday morning with the multi events starting at 10AM with the women's 55m Hurdles in the Pentathlon followed by the same event for the men's Heptathlon. The first day of the multis will wrap up before 1:30 with the individual events starting at 2PM with the men's and women's weight throw.
This is an exciting meet because our student-athletes get to showcase all the hard work they've been putting in this fall", said Head Coach Bryan Berryhill. "It's hard to train week in and week out without competing so they are looking forward to finally getting this opportunity at home. It'll be good from a coaching standpoint to see where the team is at and how we translate what they've been doing in practice to competition. The goal is to get better with every meet throughout the season so this is the first step towards the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships."
The weight throw will be followed by the first jumping event of the afternoon at 3PM and then the 55M Hurdles will kick off the races and take us through the rest of the events on Friday capped off by the 4x400M relay at 6:15PM.
The multis will finish up on Saturday morning at 10:30AM. A full schedule of the Meet can be found on GoWyo.com
Joining the Cowboys and Cowgirls in Laramie will be a full squad from Colorado State University and the throwers from the University of Colorado
