LARAMIE, Wyo. (11/9/21) – University of Wyoming's Melissa Mirafuentes has enjoyed an applaud-worthy first couple weeks of the swimming & diving season. The junior diver has won multiple events and achieved both qualifying scores for Zones this spring.

On Tuesday, Mirafuentes added another accolade to her fast start. She was honored as the Mountain West Conference Diver of the Week.

Mirafuentes won three of four diving events this past week. She won both the 1- and 3-meter competitions in a dual meet against Northern Colorado on Thursday and took the 3-meter title in a tri-meet featuring Colorado State and Colorado Mesa on Friday.

Mirafuentes tallied 284.5 points in the 1-meter event Thursday and 276.00 points in 3-meter. She accumulated 284.40 and 321.90 points, respectively, in the two events Friday.

Mirafuentes and some of her teammates travel to the Missouri Invitational next week.
