For the second straight week Marcus Epps made the start for the Philadelphia Eagles. Epps was a vital piece of the Eagles defense as he played 100 percent of the defensive snaps and played on special teams. He had seven solo tackles and a pass deflection as the Eagles rolled to a 44-6 victory over the Detroit Lions.
Coming off of a bye week, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills returned to action against their division rivals the Miami Dolphins. Allen had a strong day throwing for 249 yards and two touchdowns as well as running for a third touchdown. The Bills cruised to a 26-11 win over the Dolphins and improved to 5-2 on the season.
Logan Wilson and the Cincinnati Bengals were on the road in week eight as they faced the New York Jets. Wilson led the Bengals defense in tackles recording 10 solo tackles and 12 total, it was the first time this season that Wilson has recorded double digit solo tackles. Despite their efforts the Bengals fell to the Jets, 31-34.
Carl Granderson and the New Orleans Saints hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Granderson saw time on both special teams and defense and recorded one tackle as the Saints downed the Buccaneers 36-27 to move to 5-2 on the season.
In a battle of Cowboy alumni, Mike Purcell and the Broncos faced off against Chase Roullier and the Washington Football Team. Roullier once again made the start and played 41% of the offensive snaps for Washington. Purcell did not record any stats in the broncos 17-10 victory.
Andrew Wingard, Jacob Hollister and the Jacksonville Jaguars hit the road to face the Seattle Seahawks. Wingard once again started for the Jaguars playing a majority of the defensive snaps and recording two tackles. Hollister did not record any stats as the Jaguars fell, 7-31 to the Seahawks.
Tashaun Gipson and the Chicago Bears took on the San Francisco 49'ers. Gipson made his fifth start of the season for the Bears and recorded five total tackles as well as a pass deflection, but the Bears fell 22-33 to the 49'ers.
Tyler Hall played on special teams for the Los Angeles Rams in their 38-22 victory over the Houston Texans.
There is one marquee matchup in week 9 as Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills will travel to face Andrew Wingard, Jacob Hollister and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
