FORT COLLINS, Colo. (10/18/21) – The University of Wyoming women's golf team began play at the Colonel Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic on Monday. The Cowgirls, as a team, sit in a tie for 11th-place at 39-over in a tournament being played at the Ptarmigan Country Club.

Not all teams completed its second round of play due to darkness.

"We got off to a rough start and really had to battle and fight back today," head coach Josey Stender said. "The course played very firm and we had a tough time adjusting to it."

Nevada leads the way at 1-under. Colorado State is in second at 1-over as a team, while Incarnate Word rounds out the top three at 5-over.

Freshman Meghan Vogt paces Wyoming, as she owns a score of 6-over having played 16 holes of her second round. She's positioned in a tie for 33rd, and her most recent round includes five birdies.

Redshirt-freshman Jessica Zapf is in a tie for 46th. She's 9-over par, and that's includes three birdies over her two rounds.  

Redshirt-sophomore Samantha Hui rounds out the top three for UW. She's in a tie for 55th, having logged three birdies over her two rounds of play.

Redshirt-freshman Morgan Ryan, and redshirt-sophomore Cristiana Ciasca account for Wyoming's final two in the team score. They are positioned in a tie for 63rd and 77th with scores of 13-over and 18-over, respectively.

Redshirt-freshman Rachel Stoinski, playing as an individual, is tied for 66th at 14-over.

The third and final round will take place Tuesday, beginning at 9 a.m.
