Cowgirl Soccer Announces 2021 Spring Schedule

Wyoming will play five home contests

LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 27, 2021) – Head coach Pete Cuadrado and the University of Wyoming women's soccer program announced its 2021 schedule this afternoon. The 10-match slate features five home matches at either the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex or IPF (Indoor Practice Facility) dependent on the weather. The league has been split in to two divisions the Mountain and West. At the end of the conference season, the top team in each league will play for the automatic qualifier spot for the NCAA tournament.
 
"We're very thankful for the time and effort everyone within the Mountain West Conference has dedicated towards creating our spring game schedule," Cuadrado said.  "The games will all be a high level of competition, and every week will have great importance towards making the post-season.  Our team handled the fall very well, and we are prepared to return to action this spring."

Wyoming returns 17 letterwinners and nine letterwinners from the 2019 team that posted an overall mark of 7-7-5 and a 4-5-2 record in the Mountain West. Sohomore Jamie Tatum was selected to the All-Newcomer Team. Tatum finished with 54 shots, six goals and two game winning goals in her first season of play. As a team, the Cowgirls recorded 29 goals, five ties and played in eight overtime games.

The Cowgirls will open up the season with a two-game homestand on Friday, March 5 against the Utah State Aggies followed by the New Mexico Lobos, on Sunday, March 7. Wyoming will hit a two-match road stretch with a match-up against the Air Force Falcons, on Friday, March 12, and the Colorado College Tigers, on Sunday, March 14.
 
The team will return home for its final three home matches beginning on Saturday, March 20, against the Colorado State Rams. The following weekend will see match-ups against the Tigers of Colorado College, Friday, March 26, and the Falcons, on Sunday, March, 28.
 
Wyoming's conference season will conclude with a three-match road trip. Saturday, April 3, the squad will face its rival Colorado State in Ft. Collins. The following weekend, the Cowgirls will take on the New Mexico Lobos, on Friday, April 9, in Albuquerque, and the Aggies, on Sunday, April 11, in Logan.
 
All regular season games will be played on Fridays and Sundays, except for game against Colorado State which are scheduled to be played on Saturdays.
