Coming to Wyoming from St. Charles, Missouri, Freshman
Josh Kyle was a high school All-American and a multi-time state placer.
How has practice and training differed from high school to college?
The practices are definitely more intense in college compared to high school.
What are you most looking forward to going into your fist season at UW?
I'm mostly looking forward to being able to wrestle competitively again after being off for so long.
What is one thing you learned in your high school career that will help you to compete at the college level?
To trust the process, you may not get the result you want right away but if you keep working hard you eventually will.
What is your favorite memory from your high school career?
Winning my last state medal.
Do your model style after any other wrestlers?
I'm not really sure.
What's the biggest goal you have set for yourself in your first year at UW?
to focus on academics more than ever, because now you have to maintain good grades to be on the team.
How do you think your mindset has (or hasn't) changed from your last high school season to your first collegiate season?
I think I've gotten better mental toughness since I've been at UW.
Do you have any pre-match or pre-tournament rituals and/or superstitions?
Always listen to Thunderstruck by AC/DC and Enter Sandman by Metallica.
Why did you decide to come to UW?
I chose UW because I liked the team aspect and I felt really close with the coaching staff, also because the education for my major.
