LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 18, 2020) – Head coach Pete Cuadrado and the University of Wyoming women's soccer program announced its 2020 schedule this afternoon. The 17-game slate features seven home matches at the Louis S. Madrid Sports Complex, five of which are against Mountain West foes.

The Cowgirls will play one exhibition match prior to the official start of the season, traveling to Manhattan, Kansas, to take on the Kansas State Wildcats. It will be the first meeting between the two schools. Wyoming will return home to open up the 2020 regular season against the Dixie State Trailblazers, on Thurs., Aug. 20 in Laramie. The Cowgirls will follow that up with a three-match road swing beginning against the Colorado Buffaloes. The Sunday, Sept. 6 match-up will be the first meeting since the 2012 season. On Friday September 11th,  UW will travel to Vermillion to take on the South Dakota Coyotes where in 2018 the Cowgirls came away with a 4-2 victory.  The trip will conclude against the Omaha Mavericks on Sun., Sept. 13. The Cowgirls will conclude their non-conference slate at home on Fri., Sept. 18 against New Mexico State. The two teams finished in a 1-1 double overtime tie last year.

"This year's schedule came together really well," Cuadrado said. "We will have two new opponents for Wyoming Soccer, and a couple of others we haven't played in a few years.  The home schedule is very exciting for us, and the Mountain West Conference segment of home games will give fans some great matches to watch.  For us, it is now about getting prepared to begin our pre-season training on August 4th so we can build the team to take on this year's schedule."

Wyoming will face all 11 other Mountain West teams during the regular season, starting with a road and home contest to open conference play. They will take on the New Mexico Lobos Friday, Sept. 25 in Albuquerque, followed by the home conference opener against San Diego State on Sunday. Back on the road for two matches, the Cowgirls will face San Jose State and Fresno State will be followed up with four straight home matches in the middle of October. UW will host Air Force on Fri., Oct. 9 and Colorado College, on Sunday, Oct. 11. UNLV will make the trip to Laramie on Friday, Oct. 16 and Nevada on Sunday, Oct. 18. The Cowgirls will on the road for a pair of contest against defending Mountain West Champion Boise State and Nevada before closing out the campaign with the annual Border War with Colorado State on October 30.

All regular season games will be played on Fridays and Sundays, except for the non-conference contest against Dixie State which is scheduled for Thursday.
