Catching up with Cowgirl Soccer. Former Wyoming student-athlete Olivia Mohtadi was a four-year letterwinner and forward for the Cowgirls from 2009-13. She was a part of 32 victories during her career including a nine win season in 2009.  Graduating with a degree in kinesiology and health science, she is currently the business owner in strength and conditioning of Eleven Performance. Media Relations recently caught up with her to see what's been going on.

What steps did you take to get into your current career field?
Completing my degree was my first step along with my interest in the training we completed for the soccer team. The UW strength and conditioning coach at the time helped me rehab the injuries I had and it inspired me to want to have the same impact on athletes and people with their sport performance and injury rehabilitation.

How did your involvement in athletics aid in the path that you chose following graduation?
It was very influential, I often use my experiences both good and bad from my athletic career in my current career.   I work with athletes that have goals to play their sport at the post-secondary level so my experience can help give them advice as well as I know firsthand what is expected physically.

What piece of advice would you give current student-athletes?
Don't make excuses for yourself, and you can always work harder than you think. It'll be over before you know it.

What is your fondest memory of playing at the University of Wyoming?
We always had a pre-season trip, and in 2010 and 2011 we went to Jackson, Wyoming. It was a great time of bonding, soccer and training!

How did your previous coaches influence you?
All my coaches at UW influenced me as it was an excellent experience and during a very influential time. During my redshirt year I had the opportunity to work with the strength and conditioning coach one on one. This helped develop my understanding for sport performance training and what it takes to overcome injuries and return to performance. As mentioned it gave me an inside look into how a coach can impact a player positively in and out of sport. I wanted to be able to have that impact on people. Thus my career and developing my strength and conditioning business.
