Darren Green joins the Cowboy squad from Broomfield, Colo. where he wrestled for Broomfield High School. Green was a four-time state placer and a two-time Colorado state champion.
How has practice and training differed from high school to college?
How high school and college practice differ is that the energy level is high and everyone wants to be there
What are you most looking forward to going into your fist season at UW?
What I'm looking most forward to this season is traveling and making memories with my teammates.
What is one thing you learned in your high school career that will help you to compete at the college level?
What I learned in high school that I brought to college was to always work hard because someone is always watching.
What is your favorite memory from your high school career?
My favorite memory from my high school career is winning my first state title.
Do your model style after any other wrestlers?
I would like to say that I have my own style and wouldn't compare myself to anyone else.
What's the biggest goal you have set for yourself in your first year at UW?
My biggest goal this season is to get better and hopefully see the starting lineup.
Is there any familiarity between you and the other Colorado natives on the roster?
There are a couple of teammates that are from Colorado so it's nice to have them on the team because you have a little bit of Colorado with you.
How determined were you and how did it feel to end your high school career with a victory?
Coming off my senior year from high school with a victory was so nice because I felt a sense of relief knowing that all the hard work was worth it.
Why did you decide to come to UW?
I came to Wyoming because I thought it was the perfect fit for me and I really liked Wyoming's traditions.
