Kirby Coe-Kirkham and
Patrick Azevedo are set to begin play at the 2020 Agave Amateur tomorrow. The event is part of the Saguaro Amateur Series and will be held Dec. 19-21 at the Shadow Hills Golf Club in Indio, Calif. All three will compete as unattached.
Sargent is scheduled to tee off at 10:39 MT and 9:27 am on Sunday. Sargent competed in the event during the 2018 fall season. She placed in a tie for 43
rd with a 7-over 220. Coe-Kirkham will tee off at 10:30 a.m. and 9:36 a.m. each day, while Azevedo begins his tournament at 9:27 a.m. tomorrow and 10:39 on Sunday.
This past summer and fall, Sargent participated in several events across the state of Wyoming and Colorado. At the CGS Women's Championship match-play, she reached the semifinals and shot a 3-under, 69 at the 105th CGA Women's Stroke Play Qualifier.
She finished the 2019-20 season with three top 25 performances. Her best coming at the Wyoming Cowgirl Desert Classic where she turned in sixth place finish with a 13-over 229. She opened up the fall in a tie for 15
th with a 220 (+7). The following weekend, she carded a three day total of 11-over 227 to finish in a tie in 22
nd. Sargent closed out the fall with a career best round of 3-under 69 at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown.
Coe-Kirkham also had a busy summer which included earning the low amateur at the Laramie Open with a score of 4-under 209. He also had solid finishes at the Wyoming State Open Amateur and the Golf Coaches Association of America Amateur. He had an outstanding sophomore campaign which resulted in him setting a new UW single season record for the lowest individual scoring average at 71.5 strokes per round. Coe-Kirkham played in eight events during the 2019-20 season, which included five Top 25 finishes. His best finish was a sixth place spot at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational, while his season-best round was a seven-under 64 in the second round of the Ka'anapali Classic.
This fall, Azevedo competed at the Golf Coaches Association of America Amateur. He joined the Cowboy program after a solid career at Othello High School. Among his accomplishments, he finished third as a junior at the Washington Class 2A State Golf Championship in May of 2019. He won the 2A State Championship as a freshman in the spring of 2017 and placed fifth as a sophomore in 2018. In the summer of 2019, Azevedo enjoyed a great deal of success in several Washington Junior Golf Association (WJGA) tournaments. He placed second overall at the WJGA Players Open. He captured the District 4 Sub-District #1 tournament championship and the District 4 Sub-District #3 tournament on way to winning his second straight WJGA District 4 Championship.
