LARAMIE, Wyo. (August 5, 2019) – As the summer tourism months are underway, our diverse Cowgirl basketball team would like to give fans a guide to their hometowns. This week,
Karla Erjavec shares her guide to Zagreb, Croatia, as she competes in the FIBA U20 European Championship.
Erjavec suggested two hotels to stay at in Zagreb, both located in the downtown area: Hotel Dubrovnik and Hotel Esplanade. The two restaurants she suggest to tourists, Restaurant Nokturno and Restaurant Capuciner, are both within 10 minutes of walking from these two hotels.
As far as what to do during your days in Zagreb, Karla says that the Zagreb Cathredral, the Uptown area and Saint Marko church are all can't-miss sights. Additionally, the Museum of Illusions is highly recommended, as is shopping in Arean Zagreb. For nightlife, Karla says Johann Franck, a café and club located in the main square of Ban Josip Jelačić is the place to be.
For those that want to check out the nature sights around Zagreb, Erjavec would direct you to Zrinjavec park, as well as the mountain of Medvednica.
Karla also shared a few phrases to help tourists get around Zagreb:
- Hvala – thank you
- Molim – please
- Bok – hello
