LARAMIE, Wyo. (August 13, 2019) – As the summer tourism months are underway, our diverse Cowgirl basketball team would like to give fans a guide to their hometowns. This week, Taylor Rusk shares the best ways to take in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and the surrounding Denver area.

If you're looking for a place to stay in the Denver area, Taylor says the downtown area has plenty of great hotels with incredible views of the city with a large selection of diverse food options. Her favorite restaurants in the area are Hacienda Colorado for Mexican food and BD's downtown for Mongolian grill and fried Oreos.

As far as fun things to do in the city, Rusk says Rockies games, the Denver Art Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and the Molly Brown House Museum are all must-see stops. As are Daniels Park and the Red Rocks concert venue. For even more outdoor fun, the Rocky Mountains are only 45 minutes away for plenty of hiking and mountain biking during the summer or snow sports during the winter.

For shopping, Taylor says Park Meadows or the 16th Street Mall will have anything you could want for your shopping needs. Additionally, the 16th Street Fair, which will run again on September 27th and 28th, is a great way to spend a day in the city.

As far as fitting in, Rusk says that if you're on a hiking trail with a hydro flask, you'll blend in with the locals, especially if you brought a dog with you.
