LARAMIE, Wyo. (June 24, 2019) – As the summer tourism months get started, our diverse Cowgirl team would like to give our fans a guide to their hometowns. First, Quinn Weidemann, a sophomore, breaks down the best way to visit Omaha, Neb., as the College World Series kicks off tonight in her hometown.

If you're looking for a hotel in Omaha, Weidemann suggests the downtown area, which is right by the Missouri River. This puts you in a good location to go to some of her favorite spots to grab a bite to eat, such as Mangia Italiana, Gorat's Steakhouse, Runza, Lighthouse Pizza or Hector's.

If you're in the area for the College World Series, Quinn suggests you check out the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo while you're in town. If you want to get out of the town and spend time in nature, Hummel Park is just north, while the Fontenelle Forest is to the south along the river. To the southwest is the Mahoney Wildlife Safari that offers plenty of ways to see some native animals in a different environment.

As for nightlife, Weidemann suggests heading to the Benson District or to the Old Market. Throughout the summer, there are numerous festivals in Omaha, including the Summer Art Festival and a Taste of Omaha. Weidemann adds the Joslyn Art Museum, Omaha Children's Museum and the Durham Museum as places to visit during your stay in Omaha.

For shopping, Quinn says you can't go wrong by going to the Gretna Outlet Mall, Village Pointe, Regency or the Westroads.
