LARAMIE, Wyo. (April 23, 2019) – The University of Wyoming women's soccer team reached the halfway point of the spring with a 2-0 record last week with a 1-0 win over Metro State and a 3-1 victory against Colorado School of Mines.

Last Friday, the Cowgirls hosted Colorado School of Mines. Wyoming got on the board quickly with a goal from senior Brittney Stark in the 23rd minute. The assist came from fellow senior Annika Clayton. The lead would be extended right before the half by junior Talia Sclafani as her shot reached the back of the net to make it 2-0. Out of the break, Stark would record her second goal of the match with the assist coming from freshman Kennedy Schomer. A goal by CSM in the 82nd minute made the final score 3-1 in favor of UW.

Against Metro State, incoming freshman Sydnie Maiava had the lone goal in the match to help give the Cowgirls a 1-0 win. Freshmen Riley Furbush and Hannah Lee notched the shutout for UW in goal.

Wyoming will be on the road Saturday against the Colorado Buffaloes. The game is scheduled to kick off at 12 p.m. MT at the Prentup Field.
