Laramie, Wyo. (March 7, 2019) -- Pro Day for the University of Wyoming Football team once again attracted NFL scouting personnel from across the country as 29 of 32 NFL teams were represented on Thursday to watch eight former Cowboys display their talents in hopes of earning an opportunity to play professional football.
The eight Cowboys who tested on Thursday included: safety
Andrew Wingard, safety
Marcus Epps, running back
Nico Evans, tight end
Austin Fort, defensive lineman
Sidney Malauulu, tight end
Tyree Mayfield, defensive back
Chavez Pownell Jr. and defensive end/outside linebacker
Kevin Prosser.
The testing, which was open to the public, saw Wyoming's draft-eligible players tested by NFL scouts in a series of drills, including: the 225 bench press, Vertical Jump, the 40-yard dash, Broad jump, 3-cone test, 20-yard shuttle, 60-yard shuttle and Specific Position Testing.
After completion of the testing, Wyoming head coach
Craig Bohl spoke to the media in attendance.
"It was great to see the number of NFL teams who came today to evaluate our players," said Bohl. "Over the last few years, the attention our players have attracted from NFL scouts has continued to grow. I think that is an indication of both the young men we have been able to recruit to Wyoming, and the job our assistant coaches and strength staff have done in developing the players we've brought into our program.
"In talking to a number of NFL personnel in attendance today, while I'm not at liberty to talk specifics, I believe several of our players helped themselves in the eyes of the scouts.
"We appreciate what these young men have done in helping build our program during their careers, and we look forward to see what the future holds for them."
The 2019 NFL Draft will be held Thursday-Saturday, April 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
