LARAMIE, Wyo. (February 13, 2019) – With a record of 14-5 so far this season, this team not only excels on the court, but it also does the same in the classroom. This fall semester the Cowgirls finished with a 3.77 cumulative GPA, having six players with perfect 4.0 GPAs. The coaching staff knows how important it is for the players to get a degree and to be able to complete their education. For the spring semester, the practice times have changed allowing several players to get to their classes and help the upperclassmen finish their degrees on time to graduate this upcoming May.

Coach Legerski cares about his players' education, and he tries hard for them to be able to finish their degrees. As much as he likes winning games, he is proud of knowing that every player that he has coached for four years has completed her education and graduated.

Today is time to take a look at the Cowgirls from a different perspective, outside of basketball as they talk about their futures:

#1 - Karla Erjavec: Double majoring in kinesiology & health promotion and human nutrition. After college, she wants to play professional basketball, and when she is done, she wishes to become a sports nutritionist. With this, Karla desires to help young athletes reach their highest level get the most out of their bodies.  

#2 - Tereza Vitulova: Started her major in humanities & fine arts with concentrations in music, theatre, dance, and women's studies. She likes the diversity and the different options that this degree can give her. In the future, she would like to become a makeup artist for music and theatre environments.

#3 - Elisa Pilli: Majoring in kinesiology & health promotion. Her real passion is to help people, and that is the main reason why she would like to finish her studies to become a physical therapist.

#4 - Taylor Rusk: Nursing major with a minor in business. She will be done with basketball after college because she wants to focus on finishing her Bachelor of Science in nursing during her fiifth year. Taylor would like to work as a surgical or pediatric nurse because those fields are really interesting to her.

#5 - Sladjana Rakovic: Majoring in economics. In the future, she wants to play professional basketball for some years and after that, study a master's degree in business administration. With this, Sladjana wants to be able to go into trading and consulting for her future career.

#10 - Selale Kepenc: Majoring in management. She wants to keep playing basketball after college for as many years as she can. After her basketball days are over, she would like to become a manager for a professional basketball team or to take part in a business.

#11 - Alba Sanchez Ramos: Still undeclared even though she likes math. She has not found her passion yet, but she has a few ideas of what she would like to do in the future.

#12 - Marta Gomez: Finished her major in communication her junior year and started two minors in public relations and marketing communication. She wants to continue her basketball career on a professional team in Europe while getting a master's degree in video production and filmmaking.

#14 - Quinn Weidemann: Still undeclared but thinking about starting a business management or marketing major. She does not know yet what her future career will look like, but she hopes that taking some business courses will clear her mind about it.

#15 - Maria Torreblanca: Just started her major in international studies with a minor in French. She would like to work in international politics or become an international lawyer. She would also like to work with something related to languages, like translation and interpretation.

#22 - Clara Tapia: Double major in molecular biology and chemistry. She knows that she wants to keep studying and playing basketball while pursuing a master's degree in neuroscience. Becoming a teacher sounds like something that she could enjoy as a professional career.

#23 - Bailee Cotton: Majoring in architectural engineering with a minor in math. After graduation, she will get an interior design master's degree, which is the field where she would like to work in the future. She will also try to play professional basketball in Europe for at least a year.  

#24 - Tommi Olson: Just started her major in chemistry. After college, Tommi wants to enlist into the army and attend dental school while serving the country. In the future, she wants to become an orthodontist and open up her own office.

#32 - Tijana Raca: Finishing her major in family & consumer sciences with a concentration in human nutrition and food. She wants to get her master's degree in sports nutrition while playing basketball in Europe after graduation. In the future, Tijana hopes to become a sports nutritionist.

#40 - Coreen Labish: Major in agriculture business with a concentration in livestock management. When she finishes school, Coreen would love to work on a ranch and develop her future career.

#44 - Rachelle Tucker: Majoring in animal and veterinary science with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine. After graduating she will attend veterinary medicine school at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for two years and finish her degree at Iowa State University. Rachelle wants to work in a companion animal practice after she finishes all her studies.
