LARAMIE, Wyo. (December 2, 2019) – Wyoming sophomore forward
Tereza Vitulova has been named the Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 1, it was announced on Monday by the conference office.
Overall, it is the first weekly award of her season and her career.
Last week, Vitulova led Wyoming to its first road win of the season over North Dakota State, 66-57. In that game, Vitulova had a career-high 25 points on a career-high 12 made field goals. She shot an extremely efficient 12-of-17 (70.6 percent) from the field and made a three pointer to show off her range. She also collected a career-high eight rebounds and tied her career high with a pair of blocks. In a game that featured 12 lead changes, four of Vitulova's field goals gave the Cowgirls the lead.
Wyoming had a second game of the week scheduled against New Mexico Highlands for Saturday, Nov. 30, but inclement weather had the game canceled.
Vitulova is the first Cowgirl to earn a conference player of the week award since
Bailee Cotton earned the honor on Dec. 10, 2018.
The Cowgirls are back in action on Wednesday, Dec. 4, when the travel to face Air Force for a game starting at 6:30 p.m.
