LARAMIE, Wyo. (November 12, 2019) – The Wyoming Cowgirls (2-0, 0-0 MW) will continue the 2019-20 season when they travel to Denver to face the Pioneers in what is UW's first road game of the season on Thursday, Nov. 14 for a 7 p.m. tip. The Cowgirls will see if the Mountain West's top defense, allowing just 49.0 points per game, can travel to the Mile High City.
The game will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network, and can be heard across the 25 stations of the Cowgirl Radio Network with Reece Monaco on play-by-play and Wyoming Hall of Famer Margie McDonald with color commentary.
A LOOK AT THE WYOMING COWGIRLS
The Cowgirls are 2-0 on the year following a 69-67 victory over Saint Mary's on Sunday. Wyoming is led offensively by sophomore
Alba Sanchez Ramos who averages 12.0 points per game to go along with 4.5 rebounds and 1.0 assists per contest. Freshman

Wyoming averages 13.5 assists to 10.0 turnovers per game. Cowgirl foes are shooting 35.2 percent (38-108) from the field, 30.6 percent (11-36) from three and 44.0 percent (11-25) from the free throw line to average a Mountain West low 49.0 points per game. Head coach
Gerald Mattinson is in his first year as head coach of the Cowgirls and owns a 2-0 record. He spent the previous 16 seasons on the Wyoming bench as an assistant and associate head coach.

The Denver Pioneers are 0-2, coming off a 75-78 loss to New Mexico State. Denver is led offensively by Uju Ezeudu, who is averaging 18.5 points per game to go along with 10.0 rebounds per contest. Madison Nelson is also averaging a double-double with 17.0 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, while Briana Johnson averages 13.0 points and 3.0 assists per game. Defensively, Nelson averages 3.5 steals per contest to lead the Pioneers, while she shares the team lead in blocks with Jasmine Jeffcoat with 1.0 per game.
The Pioneers are shooting 35.9 percent (47-131) from the field, 26.7 percent (12-45) from three and 73.8 percent (48-65) from the free throw line to average 77.0 points per game. Denver averages 11.5 assists and 13.5 turnovers per contest. SERIES HISTORY AGAINST DENVER
The Cowgirls and Pioneers have faced each other 27 times, with Wyoming holding a 23-4 lead in the series. In fact, Wyoming has won the last seven matchups dating back to 2012. Denver's only winning streak in the series was a pair of games in 1999 and 2003. On the road, Wyoming is 8-3 against Denver, and has won three in a row in the Mile High City.
