LARAMIE, Wyo. (Oct. 31, 2019) – The Wyoming volleyball team looks to regain its winning ways Saturday afternoon as Air Force comes to the UniWyo Sports Complex for a 1 p.m., contest.

The Cowgirls' (14-8, 9-2 MW) seven-match winning streak was broken at the hands of 14th-ranked Colorado State Tuesday, as CSU won in four sets, 27-25, 23-25, 30-28 and 25-12. KC McMahon led UW with 16 kills in the match while Emersen Cyza recorded a career-best 13. Mackenzie Coates notched her fourth double-double of the season as she tallied 43 assists and a career-high 17 digs in the loss.

Wyoming defeated Air Force (8-14, 5-5 MW) in five sets earlier this month in Colorado Springs. Jackie McBride recorded a career-high 18 kills and hit .350 in the first match this season with the Falcons. Kyra Slavik, who was playing for the injured Coates in that match, notched 43 assists and 18 digs. Erika Jones had a career-best 16 digs in the win while Madi Fields led the way with 22.

During league play, Denise Ssozi ranks 10th in the Mountain West averaging 3.15 kills per set for Air Force while Bailey Keith leads the team with 228 kills on the year. Andi Ahlers ranks eighth in the conference averaging 9.17 assists per set. Alex King's 4.33 digs per during league play is fourth-best. As a team, the Falcons rank fourth in the MW averaging 12.7 kills and 1.55 service aces per set.

The Cowgirls still rank second in the MW during conference play in both hitting percentage (.247) and opponent hitting percentage (.178). Wyoming also ranks third averaging 13.04 kills per set and are fourth with 2.53 blocks per.

Fields continues her pursuit of the all-time career digs record in Wyoming history. Fields is now 99 digs shy of Becky Stewart's record of 1,683. Fields would need to average 14.14 digs per match the rest of the season to set the new mark. This season, Fields is averaging 17.22 digs a match so far.
