LARAMIE, Wyo. (October 2, 2019) – The Wyoming soccer team will open up a two-game road swing Friday against the Air Force Falcons followed by an afternoon match on Sunday against the Colorado College Tigers. Friday's match is set for 6 p.m. MT while a 1:00 p.m. time is scheduled for Sunday. Both matches will be played in Colorado Springs.

The Cowgirls enter the week with a 4-3-3 record and 1-1 in MW action. They split the opening weekend with a 3-2 victory over San Diego State followed up by a tough 3-0 loss against New Mexico.

"We head in to these two matches hoping we can really separate ourselves from the rest of the conference," head coach Pete Cuadrado said. "10 of the 12 teams with the same league record after the opening weekend.  It would have been great for us to put together two great performances last weekend, so that should be our lesson learned for these upcoming matches.  If we can put together two great games, then we will be in a great position moving forward.  Our team has to know that anyone can beat anyone in the Mountain West, and I think they saw that this past weekend and are ready to move forward."

Air Force enters the weekend with a 6-2 overall record and 1-1 in the league. Last time out, the Falcons dropped a tough 2-1 loss against San Jose State at home.

Forward Lexi Romero leads the way with eight goals, 19 points and 37 shots. She is ranked second in the league in goals and points and fourth in shots. Her teammate, forward Jillian Jamero has three goals, eight points and 15 shots. In goal, Danielle Katz is giving up 0.95 goals per game and has 32 saves. As a team, they averaging two goals and 15.7 shots per contest.
