LARAMIE, Wyo. (Jan. 25, 2019) – The No. 8/11 Cowboy wrestling team wraps its January homestand this weekend in the UniWyo Sports Complex, hosting Big 12 rival West Virginia on Sunday afternoon.

The Cowboys and the Mountaineers will square off at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The first 100 fans at the dual will receive a free Wyoming wrestling takedown foam finger.

Dual Coverage
Fans can stream all of the action this weekend live on FloWrestling. Live scoring will be available on Trackwrestling as well. Fans can also follow live updates on Twitter at @WyoWrestle.

Last Time Out
The Wyoming wrestling team earned its seventh consecutive win on Friday night, defeating Big 12 foe Air Force, 33-3, in the UniWyo Sports Complex.

The teams got off to a late start, with weather delaying Air Force's arrival and pushing the dual back over an hour beyond the originally scheduled start time; however, the Cowboys showed toughness in jumping on the Falcons from the start and not letting up. The Pokes won nine out of 10 bouts, with four of their victories coming with bonus points.

Know the Foe
West Virginia enters Sunday's dual at 2-11 overall with a 2-4 record in conference matches. Despite wins over Big 12 opponents North Dakota State and Northern Colorado, the Mountaineers have endured a tough 2018-19 slate, with eight of their 11 losses coming at the hands of top-25 opponents. First-year head coach Tim Flynn returns NCAA qualifier Matthew Schmitt at 125 pounds to his roster, along with a couple of other top-20 grapplers in No. 16 Christian Monserrat at 149 and No. 19 Nick Kiussis at 165.

Prior to making the trip to Laramie for Sunday's contest, the Mountaineers will travel to Orem, Utah, for a battle with the Wolverines of Utah Valley following a neutral-site dual with CSU Bakersfield earlier in the day.

The Series: West Virginia
• The Cowboys and Mountaineers will be meeting for only the second time in the series between the two.
• The only previous meeting between the two schools came in 2009. The Cowboys won that matchup, 19-18, in Binghamton, N.Y.
• Head coach Mark Branch is 1-0 against West Virginia.
• WVU first-year coach Tim Flynn will see the Cowboys for the first time since taking over in Morgantown, but was 0-2 against Wyoming during his 21 years leading Edinboro.

Cowboys Look for their Eighth-Straight Win
With their win over Air Force last Friday, the Cowboys have racked up seven-straight wins. With a win over the Mountaineers on Sunday, the Pokes can tie the fourth-longest streak in the program record book.

Looking Ahead
Following this Sunday's matchup with West Virginia, Wyoming will head back out on the road to take on Fresno State and CSU Bakersfield, with both duals falling on Sunday, Feb. 3.
