LARAMIE, Wyo. (July 20, 2018) – University of Wyoming golfers senior John Murdock and junior Dan Starzinski will play in the Pacific Coast Amateur at the Olympic Club in San Francisco July 24-27. The Pacific Coast Amateur is in its 52nd year and includes players from state golf associations across the western United States and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.

The Olympic Club has hosted five U.S. Opens with the last coming in 2012. It has also hosted two Tour Championships and numerous U.S. Amateurs.

In the Pacific Coast Amateur, the three Wyoming representatives will compete as individuals, but they will also compete as a team for the Morse Cup. Murdock earned his spot by winning the Wyoming State Open crown last week. Starzinski won the Wyoming Match Play Championship in Powell this past June to earn his spot on the squad. The two are joined by Jordan Costello, who won the Wyoming State Amateur Championship.
