COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cowgirl sophomore Karla Contreras was named the Mountain West Diver of the Week for her performance at the Cowboy Diving Invite this weekend, the conference announced today.

Contreras swept all three women's events at the invitational, beginning with the women's one-meter. Contreras scored the top mark of 296.40. Later on Friday, Contreras repeated the performance on the platform with a total of 228.30.

On Saturday, Contreras completed the sweep on the three-meter. Her mark of 327.10 was enough to top her teammate, CeeJay Harris, who placed second with a score of 300.60. Contreras won each event this weekend by more than 20 points.

Contreras has now earned the weekly award from the league twice this season. She last received the honor on Oct. 24.
The Cowgirls return to the pool next week at the Mountain West Championships. Competition runs Feb. 14-17 in San Antonio, Texas.
