FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.  – Cowgirl junior Jordan Edmonds clocked the No. 2 time on the UW all-time list in the women's indoor 200 meters on Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier, highlighting her trip to Fayetteville with teammate Jerayah Davis. Edmonds crossed the finish line in 24.02 seconds, chopping over three tenths of a second off her personal best to move from No. 4 to No. 2 in program history for the event.

"Jordan is starting to realize the type of runner she can be," UW head coach Bryan Berryhill said after Friday's action in Arkansas. "She's running with a lot of confidence. She's taking tenths (of seconds) off her 200 (meters time) every time she runs it."

Edmonds' time of 24.02 was good for second in her heat behind New Balance runner Ashley Kelly. She took sixth overall, bested only by sprinters from USC, Arkansas and Kansas among the collegiate contingent of competitors.

The Colorado Springs, Colo., native passed former Cowgirls Adelaide Harper and Kereston Thomas en route to the No. 2 ranking on the UW all-time list. Thomas held the previous No. 2 ranking, posting a time of 24.20 in 2014. Edmonds will set her sights on the program record of 23.71, set by Jessica Fox in 2004.

Davis was third in the women's 60 meters on Friday, clocking a time of 7.41 seconds, while Edmonds finished seventh in the event at 7.65. Davis was the top collegiate runner, while the only collegians to top Edmonds in the 60 were Payton Chadwick and Tamara Kuykendall of Arkansas as well as Arkansas Baptist's Robyn Byrd.

Edmonds, Davis and the rest of the Wyoming track & field squad will next be in action Feb. 22-24 at the 2018 Mountain West Track & Field Championships in Albuquerque, N.M., at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
