LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 8, 2018) – Senior Jessie Gentle has been named to the Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-District VII Women's Soccer Team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America. In being named to the First Team, Gentle now advances to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. It's the first time since Laurel Ramer in 2016 to earn first team honors.
 
A native of Woolgoolga, Australia, she is three-time Academic All-Mountain West and Scholar Athlete selection, and carries a 3.95 gpa in kinesiology and health promotion with an emphasis on physical education. Gentle is a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter during her UW career. She finished ranked ninth in school history with 77 games played and logged 4,894 minutes over four seasons. Her career total of seven assists tied for 11^th all-time. This season, she had a team-high three assists along with ten shots and five points. Gentle scored the game-winner in the 3-1 victory over Colorado College. For her career, she recorded 45 shots with 14 on goal, two goals and 11 points.
 
The Academic All-District ® teams include student-athletes that are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada.  The University Division team includes NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division team combines all NAIA, Canadian, two-year schools and other affiliations.      
     
To be eligible for Academic All-America® consideration, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30 on a scale of 4.00, have reached sophomore athletic and academic standings at his/her current institution and be nominated by his/her sports information director.
