LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Cowgirls hit the road this weekend to compete in the Pacific-hosted Tiger Turkey Tipoff. The Cowgirls will face North Texas on Friday, Nov. 23 at 1:30 p.m. (MT) and Pacific on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 4 p.m. (MT). Wyoming will look to keep the Mountain West's highest scoring offense (87.3 PPG) rolling in Stockton, Calif.
The game against Pacific will be broadcast live on the West Coast Conference Network, and both games can be heard across the 25 stations of the Cowgirl Radio Network with Reece Monaco on play-by-play and Wyoming Hall of Famer Margie McDonald with color commentary.
A LOOK AT THE COWGIRLS
Senior forward
Marta Gomez is leading the way offensively for the Cowgirls, as she is averaging 15.0 points per game to go along with a Mountain West-leading 3.7 made three-pointers per contest. Freshman
Quinn Weidemann is shooting 60.0 percent (9-of-15) from deep while chipping in 10.3 points per game. Junior
Taylor Rusk is scoring 11.0 points per contest on an incredibly efficient 61.9 percent (13-of-21) shooting from the field. Senior guard
Clara Tapia is directing the offense with 3.7 assists per game, and is just one assist shy of recording 300 career assists.
Wyoming returns three starters from last year's team that put up a 22-11 record while going 13-5 in Mountain West play. The 13 conference wins ties a school record, while the Cowgirls put up back-to-back 20+ win seasons for the fifth time under head coach

Taylor Rusk is the top returning scorer, as she averaged 10.1 points per game last season. Senior
Marta Gomez scored 8.5 points per game off the bench, and was named the Mountain West's Sixth Player of the Year for the second season in a row. Cotton led the way defensively for the Cowgirls, bringing down 6.2 rebounds per game and collecting 1.2 steals per game. For her efforts, she was named to the Mountain West's All-Defensive team. Tapia led the Mountain West with a 1.8 assist-to-turnover ratio and directed the Cowgirl offense by averaging 4.3 assists per game.
As a team, the Cowgirls are shooting 48.8 percent (98-of-201) from the field, 46.4 percent (39-of-84) from three point range and 75.0 percent (27-of-36) from the free throw line to average 87.3 points per game. The Cowgirls are holding opponents to 40.7 percent (61-of-150) shooting from the field, 35.0 percent (14-of-40) from three and just 53.3 points per game. The Cowgirls average 20.0 assists and only9.7 turnovers per game while forcing 23.7 turnovers from their opponents.

SCOUTING NORTH TEXAS
The Mean Green are 1-2 early on the season with a win against Mid-America Christian and losses to Texas and Kansas State. North Texas is led offensively by Terriell Bradley, who averages 14.0 points per game and has taken a team-high 12 free throws. Trena Mims averages 12.3 points per contest while chipping in 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. Defensively, Grace Goodhart has four steals, while Bradley has three blocks in three games. Madi Townley leads North Texas on the glass, pulling down 6.0 rebounds per game.
Offensively, the Mean Green are shooting 36.5 percent (72-of-197) from the field, 27.9 percent (17-of-61) from three and 53.1 percent (17-of-32) from the free throw line to average 59.3 points per game. Defensively, opponents are shooting 33.1 percent (58-of-175) from the field and 21.3 percent (10-of-47) from three-point range while averaging 53.0 points per game. North Texas averages 8.7 assists to 14.7 turnovers each game.
Head coach Jalie Mitchell is in her fourth year at North Texas, where she has a 41-54 record at the helm of the Mean Green.
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST NORTH TEXAS
The Cowgirls and North Texas have only met once on the hardwood. In 1983, the Cowgirls took a 56-55 decision from the Mean Green in Manhattan, Kan., during a tournament hosted by Kansas State.
SCOUTING PACIFIC
The Tigers are 1-1 this season with a win over UC Davis and a loss at No. 23 California. Pacific is led offensively by Ameela Li, who averages 20.5 points per game and 7.5 assists per contest. Brooklyn McDavid is averaging 18.5 points per game on an efficient 55.2 percent (16-of-29) shooting clip. Valerie Higgins rounds out Pacific's double-digit scorers, as she averages 15.0 points per night and leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per contest. Le and Higgins both average 2.5 steals per game, and the team hasn't recorded a single blocked shot yet.
Offensively, the Tigers are shooting 37.8 percent (56-of-148) from the field, 33.3 percent (15-of-45) from three and 86.2 percent (25-of-29) from the free throw line to average 76.0 points per game. Defensively, opponents are shooting 48.7 percent (57-of-117) from the field and 42.1 percent (16-of-38) from three to average 80.5 points per game. The Tigers average 17.0 assists per game to 16.0 turnovers per contest.
