Cowgirl Hoops Signs Paige Powell

LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming Cowgirl basketball head coach Joe Legerski announced the signing of Paige Powell on Saturday. Powell is a forward from Cody, Wyo.
 
"Paige is a multi-sport athlete as well as a multi-sport champion," Legerski said. "Paige's size and athleticism will provide the Wyoming program a tremendous player on both ends of the court. Paige along with McKinley Bradshaw are tremendous players from the state of Wyoming."
 
Powell competed for Encampment High School for the first three years of her career. In basketball, she earned all-conference honors in each of the last three seasons and all-state accolades in the last two. As a junior last season, Powell showed off an impressive all-around game averaging 12.7 points, 13.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.0 blocks per game. Powell led the state in rebounds and blocks while finishing second in assists. As a sophomore, she led her team to a state title. Powell will compete for Cody High School this season.
 
Powell is also a four-year letterwinner in volleyball and track & field. In volleyball, she earned all-conference honors all four years, and all-state each of the last three. Powell won a volleyball state title for Encampment High School in 2015 and was named the Three-Trails Conference Player of the Year in 2016. In track & field, Powell has been all-conference and all-state each of the last three years for Encampment High School, and has five total state championships. She won the high jump, discus and triple jump titles in 2018, and both the long and triple jump titles in 2017.
 
Academically, Powell is a member of the National Honor Society and has been on the honor roll every year of her high school career. She was class president in 2017 and has been on the student council for three years. Powell is the daughter of Cade and Brooke Powell and has three siblings. Her uncle Zach competed on Utah State's track & field team.
