LARAMIE, Wyo. (Nov. 14, 2018) – University of Wyoming head basketball coach
Allen Edwards announced the signing of Kenny Foster to the Cowboys for the 2019-20 season on Wednesday. A native of Aurora, Colo., Foster is the first signee of the 2018-19 signing class.
"We are excited to add Kenny (Foster) to our program," Edwards said. "We have really seen him grow as a basketball player and have spent a lot of time with him this summer and fall. This is a tremendous addition to what we are doing here at Wyoming."
Foster, a 6-5, 190-pounder, who plays at Smoky Hill High School was rated a three-star recruit by Rivals. He was an All-State selection last season and was one of only three juniors to make the team. He helped Smoky hill reach the Great 8 of last season's Colorado 5A state basketball tournament.
"He is a complete basketball player and person," Edwards said. "He is a great student both in the classroom and of the game. Kenny understands how to play the game the right way. He has the ability to score the basketball on all three levels. He is a great rebounder and a tremendous athlete that fits the mold of the players we want in this program."
He is a three-time All-Centennial League First team selection and three-time Sentinel A-Town All-Star Game participant. He has averaged 17.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.7 steals per game for his career at Smoky Hill.
Foster has started for Smoky Hill since he was a freshman. Last season, Foster surpassed the 1,000 point mark. He was also recruited by Colorado, Pepperdine, UC Davis, Pacific, Cleveland State, Denver, Milwaukee and Montana State.
