LARAMIE, Wyo. – Each Friday leading up to the first game of the season, the Cowgirl coaching staff will share some of their favorite memories from the 2017-18 season. This week features the trip to Orlando, where the Cowgirls attended a Thanksgiving tournament and visited Universal Studios.

November of 2017 was a month full of basketball for the Cowgirls. After a good start, the team was 4-0 going into their last challenge that month. The team traveled to Florida to participate in the Central Florida Thanksgiving Classic. The Cowgirls faced the Northern Iowa Panthers on Saturday, followed by a game against the IUPUI Jaguars on Sunday. Even though both of the games brought losses to the Cowgirls' record, both the players and the staff agreed that it was a fun week to spend together.

"The trip was definitely great for building team chemistry. We went to Disney World, spent all day together, the kids bonded, and this bonding helped us have another amazing year later. Overall, it was a great trip for both players and coaching staff," said assistant coach Bojan Jankovic.

Before getting their minds ready for the tournament, the Cowgirls enjoyed a fun day at the Universal Studios theme park in Orlando, Fla. Starting the day off with The Incredible Hulk Coaster the adrenaline levels went up, letting the Cowgirls know what kind of emotions they were about to face.

Going around the park felt like a dream come true for most of the players and coaches. It was a get-away from reality, and they immersed themselves in a fantastic and emotional experience.

After walking around for a couple of hours and taking in amazing rollercoasters and shows, the Cowgirls ended up in their favorite part of the park, and the most anticipated for some of them. The Harry Potter world opened its doors for the team, and they could feel magic everywhere around them.

The Cowgirls also got to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner at the hotel. They all spent a nice evening together that made them realized that, as head coach Joe Legerski always tells them: "You will forget about the wins and losses, but you will always remember the good times you spent together."
