LARAMIE, Wyo. – Leading up to the 2018-19 Cowgirl basketball season, GoWyo.com will use Q&A's to introduce the incoming freshmen. Today, we caught up with Alba Sanchez Ramos, a guard from Madrid, Spain.

Why did you choose the University of Wyoming?
I chose the University of Wyoming because I do believe I am going to learn a lot of new things and basketball here. Also because of the people, I really like them.
 
How would you describe your style of play?
I would say that I am a shooter, but in any case I can do more things like going to the basket, rebounding and defending as best as I can.
 
What's your favorite basketball memory so far?
The Spain championship when I was 12. It was the best tournament ever.
 
What's your pre-game ritual?
Probably taking a nap and then listening to some music from my playlist
 
Who's your favorite athlete?
Mireia Belmonte (swimmer)
 
What's the best advice you've ever been given?
Talking about basketball: the game is not over until the referee blows the whistle
Talking about life: enjoy every single moment of your life.
 
What's one item from your bucket list?
Skydive.
 
Who's your biggest role model?
My mom.
 
How did you get in to playing basketball?
Because my dad played basketball.
 
What was the most fun thing you did this summer?
I traveled to Mallorca, an island situated in Spain, with my friends at the end of high school.
 
What is your favorite karaoke song?
Old Spanish music. For example, "Lady Madrid."
 
If you could have one superpower, what would it be?
To be super fast.
 
Where in the world would you like to visit the most?
Norway, Australia, Africa, South America. I have many of them in mind.
 
What was your nickname growing up?
"Albita," I still keep it.
 
How has the transition to college gone so far for you?
It has gone good. New classes, new people, new language, new basketball style, new life. I'm still getting used to everything.
