Laramie, Wyo. (Oct. 24, 2018) -- University of Wyoming Senior Associate Athletics Director, Dr. China Jude, has been named to the Division I Women's Soccer Committee as announced by the NCAA. Jude will begin her three-year term immediately and replaces Keanah Smith, who was recently named Senior Associate Athletics Director/SWA at Western Michigan University.
A member of the Wyoming staff since February 2018, Jude has oversight for UW's women's soccer and women's volleyball teams, while also overseeing sports medicine, sports performance, the training table and fueling station.
"It is an exciting time to be a Cowboy/Cowgirl and to be a part of this Committee," commented Jude. "With my experience in Olympic soccer (1996), coordinating soccer summer camps and serving on my previous conference's soccer officials' assignor search committee, these experiences will come in handy."
"Whenever we can have members of our staff serve on national or conference committees, it is a positive for our athletics program here at the University of Wyoming," said UW Athletics Director
Tom Burman. "China (Jude) has a great deal of experience to offer as a former athletics director, herself, and we know she will be a valuable member of the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Committee."
A native of Waukegan, Ill., and a 1994 graduate of Alabama State University, Jude earned her Master's Degree from United States Sports Academy in 2006 and Doctorate from Northcentral University in 2017.
Although Jude has previously served as a member of D2 Men's Tennis Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) and Chair of two NCAA national committees (Minority Opportunities Interest Committee and D2 Nominating Committee), this is her first time serving on a national sports committee.
