LARAMIE, Wyo. (Aug. 26, 2017) -- The University of Wyoming Cowgirl volleyball team dropped two matches on the final day of the Rumble in the Rockies tournament on Saturday. UW fell to Abilene Christian 3-1 (23-25, 29-27, 21-25, 23-25) in its first match of the day before a five-set (23-18, 20-25, 25-23, 27-29, 9-15) loss to Portland.
"We were able to do some good things this weekend," UW head coach Chad Callihan said. "But there are definitely a few areas we need to improve on. I thought we had a couple of opportunities in set four tonight and just didn't execute, which came back to bite us in set five. We have to get consistent, tougher and make critical plays in critical moments. We'll get back to work, as I believe this team can get better. If we can put the pieces together I know we can do great things."
