GoWyo.com will connect with several Cowboy basketball players throughout the summer in a special weekly series called “Connecting with the Cowboys.” This week we visit with Brodricks Jones, who redshirted for the Pokes last season after transferring from UTEP. 

Jones – It helped me learn a lot. I really became a man and to become patient on the floor and trust my teammates. It also allowed me to see what I can do to help the team win more games this upcoming season.

Jones – I’m a very versatile player. I take great pride in my defense. I feel like I can guard the 1-5 positions anywhere on the court. I just can’t wait to show my talents to the Wyoming fans.

Jones – I’m looking forward to playing with them. It is going to be scary for teams to come at us from a defensive standpoint. We are all so athletic and versatile. One thing that makes us standout is our ability to bring different things to the table. It will be tough offensive to handle us as well.

Jones – Ny is going to be a great point guard here. He brings great energy and a lot of toughness. One thing he brings to the floor is the ability to defend as well. He is a great motivator at the point guard position.

Jones – Austin will bring great versatility at the small forward position. He can dribble and take the ball to the basket. He also has the ability to be a great shooter as well.  

Jones – It was difficult for me, but I learned the system that Coach Edwards has in place. I got to know how everyone plays and they got to see my game as well. I’m just really looking forward to getting out on the floor with this team.

Jones – I like to workout and work on my game. Other than that I like to play video games. I like to hang out with my teammates as well.
