GoWyo.com will connect with several Cowboy basketball players throughout the summer in a special weekly series called "Connecting with the Cowboys." This week we visit with Anthony Mack, an incoming freshman for the Pokes this season.

GoWyo.com –You have been here a little more than a month. What are your thoughts on the University of Wyoming thus far?

Mack – I'm excited to be here AS it is such a great community. The Players and coaching staff have been great and I'm very thankful to be here in Laramie.

GoWyo.com –Has the elevation effected your training?

Mack – I trained with a special mask. I was in great shape coming here, but there was definitely an adjustment. That tough two week span getting adjusted was great, I really enjoyed the challenge.

GoWyo.com – What made you come to the University of Wyoming?

Mack – I would say the coaching staff. They really gave me that feeling that they were going to push me and get the best out of me. The coaches' relationship is another big thing for me and the coaching has been great.

GoWyo.com –What type of player will people see from Anthony Mack?

Mack – An all-around player. I would say I'm great at crashing the boards and shooting the basketball. I also think I have a great ability distributing the basketball and defensively I think I can guard anyone on the floor.

GoWyo.com –You spent a few years in Vegas. Were you pretty familiar with the MW?

Mack – A little bit. I had MW schools and other west coast school recruit me. I went to a few UNLV camps when I was little. One of my trainers was Sam Smith, who used to play for UNLV.

GoWyo.com – What would you like to improve on heading into the season?

Mack – I would say my ball handling. Then I would say learning all of the sets and how coach Edwards runs his sets.

GoWyo.com – What do you like to do in the summer in Laramie?

Mack – I would say Curt Gowdy State Park. I love the outdoors and have enjoyed paddle boarding there.
