GoWyo.com will connect with several Cowboy basketball players throughout the summer in a special weekly series called “Connecting with the Cowboys.” This week we visit with Jason McManamen, who recently wrapped up a solid career with the Cowboys.

GoWyo.com –What have you been up to since graduation?

McManamen – I have been out in California with the agency I signed with as I’m just trying to stay in shape waiting for an opportunity to play at the next level.

GoWyo.com – Where do you think you will play at the next level?

McManamen – There are so many different places, but right now my agency is looking in Europe. We are really trying to find a place that fits my game. It is just a wait and see approach right now.

GoWyo.com – You have been training with a FIBA Basketball. How has that gone?

McManamen – It is a little different and I actually like it. It is more of a shooters basketball, so it helps my game. We used it in a Bahamas last year so I have some experience with it.

GoWyo.com – You got your second degree in May. What was that feeling like?

McManamen – I was excited for the opportunity to expand my education. Not a lot of people get that opportunity and I was happy with the way it unfolded.

GoWyo.com –You have had some time to reflect on your career. What was it like?

McManamen – I loved the career and opportunities I had at UW. It was truly a dream to play for the Cowboys. I look forward to the future of this program.  It is truly in good hands with the players, coaches and staff.

GoWyo.com – You have spent a lot of your career with Alan Herndon. How excited are you for him to play his senior season?

McManamen – Alan is a great player and will be a great leader for the Cowboys. He has great skills and can be one of the better two way players in the Mountain West. He will put in great work this offseason to get ready.

GoWyo.com –Morris Marshall is coming back to be a graduate assistant. How great is it to see a classmate head into the coaching ranks?

McManamen – I’m happy for Morris to continue his dreams in basketball. He is such a great leader and he will carry that on and be a great asset to the program.

GoWyo.com –What are some other plans this summer besides training?

McManamen – I’m hoping to have time to go fly fishing, as it is my favorite hobby outside of basketball.
