LARAMIE, Wyo. – Freshman diver Scotia Mullin is set to compete in the platform event at the Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Saturday at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.

Mullin will be the first men’s diver from UW to appear at the NCAA Championships since Mark Murdock in 2011. The Western Athletic Conference’s Diver of the Year will be the fourth Cowboy to compete in the platform, after qualifying with a third-place finish at the NCAA Zone E Championships. He is the only diver representing the WAC this weekend.

After earning three WAC Diver of the Week honors during the 2016-17 season, Mullin has stepped up in the postseason. The Glasgow, Scotland, native made history in the platform event at the WAC Championships, shattering the conference record by nearly 90 points. In the preliminary, Mullin earned the top spot with a score of 394.75, topping the previous WAC record of 344.80. Mullin came back in the final with one of the best performances in Wyoming history, tallying a 423.85 and improving on his own WAC record with the second-highest platform score ever by a Cowboy.

The preliminary round is set to begin at 10 a.m. MT on Saturday, with the final slated for the last session which kicks off at 4 p.m. Live results as well as a live stream of Saturday’s final are available at the links above.
