Cowgirls Take to Entrada Classic

LARAMIE, Wyo. (March 10, 2017) – The University of Wyoming Cowgirl golf team is gearing up for the Entrada Classic in St. George, Utah, this coming Monday and Tuesday, March 13-14. A total of 12 teams will be participating in the annual tournament hosted by BYU. After the BYU Entrada Classic, UW will take part in Southern Utah’s Lady Thunderbird Invitational also in St. George, on March 16-17. 

Two rounds begins Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. MT, before a final round of play on Tuesday. Live results for the tournament will be available on Golfstat.com. UW’s lineup will feature Gabrielle Gibson, Mackenzie Barrie, Erin Sargent, Megan Knadler and Klara Castillo. 

Last Time Out
Gibson tied for ninth to pace UW at the Islander Classic. Gibson earned her third career top-ten finish after posting a final round 78 (+6). Her total score of 226 (+10) was one off her season-best. Wyoming finished with a share of fourth place after posting a three-round score of 926 (+62). It was the third top-five finish of the year for the Brown and Gold. 

2016 BYU Entrada Classic Recap
The Cowgirl golf team concluded the BYU Entrada Classic in March of 2016 with a tenth-place finish and score of 949 (+85). Megan Knadler led the team with a three-round score of 237 (+21) to conclude the tournament in a tie for 34th place. Gibson finished just one shot behind and completed the tournament in 37th place. She had a third-round score of 82 (+10) to move her total to 238 (+22) in St. George.

Looking Ahead
The Cowgirls will remain in St. George, Utah, for the Lady Thunderbird Invitational. The tournament is hosted by Southern Utah and will begin on March 16.
