LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming women's swimming and diving fell to Northern Colorado by a score of 126-117 on Friday evening at the Corbett Pool.
A pool record from sophomore
Daniela Luna Rocha and sweeps of both boards of diving highlighted the day. In the first event of the dual, the Cowgirl divers posted the top three scores on the 3-meter led by sophomore
Karla Contreras with a 292.80. Junior
CeeJay Harris and senior
Peyton GrandPre finished second and third with marks of 272.63 and 255.38, respectively.
In the 1,650 freestyle, Luna Rocha dominated the field and broke the pool record by more than seven seconds. Her time of 17:31.50 was 15 seconds faster than sophomore
Talita Te Flan who placed second with a time of 17:46.55, and surpassed the previous pool record of 17:38.73.
The Cowgirls once again recorded the three highest marks in the 1-meter event. Contreras placed first to win her 12th-straight event of the season, and is still undefeated in 2017-18. GrandPre placed second with a score of 261.45 and Harris followed up with a 249.60.

Daniela Luna Rocha breaking the pool record in the 1,650 was a great swim that the entire time is proud of. This was our sixth meet in a month and it was apparent today. We will get some rest, regroup, and get ready for the Missouri Invite in a couple of weeks."
Juniors
Samantha Burke and
Isobel Ryan claimed the final two race victories of the day for Wyoming. Burke logged the top time in the 200 freestyle, narrowly beating out the second-place swimmer by six hundredths of second with a 1:56.00. In the 100 freestyle, Ryan touched the wall in 53.85 to win by more than half a second.
Wyoming swimming and diving will have two weeks off before the Missouri Invite, running Nov. 16-18 in Columbia, Mo.
