LARAMIE, Wyo. – Wyoming women's swimming and diving topped Colorado State by a score of 166-132 in Thursday evening's Border War showdown at Laramie High School.
The Cowgirls extended their winning streak over the Rams, dating back to 2009, by claiming first in 10 of the dual's 16 events. UW got things going with wins in the first four events of the day. Sophomore

Isobel Ryan clocked a top time of 1:45.36.
Sophomore
Talita Te Flan placed first in the 1000 freestyle, touching the wall in 10:29.19, more than 12 seconds faster than the competition. Burke then earned an individual victory in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:55.71. Harutjunjan picked up a win of her own in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 1:05.01.

"We love the rivalry that is always part of this dual, and our women stepped up as a team tonight," UW head coach
Dave Denniston said. "We are getting key swimmers back who have been battling injuries and this meet really help the team define its own identity. I know I speak for the entire coaching staff when I say we're proud of this time and can't wait to race Air Force on Saturday."
Junior
Marcela Gramcko earned her first race victory of the season in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:04.67, beating out teammate freshman
Monique Rae who placed second (2:05.20). Harutjunjan repeated in the 200 breaststroke, winning by only six hundredths of a second (2:22.49).
Sophomore
Daniela Luna Rocha claimed first in the 500 freestyle in her first appearance of the season, recording a 5:08.25. The Cowgirl divers once again swept the top three spots in the 3-meter with Contreras earning her eighth-straight win. The Mountain West Diver of the Week scored a season-best 332.48, while GrandPre placed second with a 229.95 and Harris third with 228.23. The Cowgirls' top 400 freestyle team notched the top time (3:30.86) but all four teams were exhibitioned.
UW swimming and diving will be back in action on Saturday for Senior Day. Diving will begin at 11 a.m. MT at Laramie High School followed by races starting at 12 p.m. MT.
