Copeland: Season stats | MW stats
COLORADO SPRINGS,
Colo. (Sept. 26, 2016) – Wyoming sophomore middle blocker Reed Copeland has
been named the Mountain West Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, the
conference announced Monday. It marks the first time Copeland has won Player of
the Week honors and the first Cowgirl since Allison Waldvogel won in September
of last season.
The Federal Way, Wash., native opened MW play with a
season-high 11 blocks against San Jose State last Thursday. Her previous high
of 2016 was eight blocks against Idaho during the Idaho Volleyball Classic and against LIU Brooklyn at the Sports Imports D.C. Koehl Classic. She
recorded seven total blocks in the opening set against SJSU to pace Wyoming.
Copeland also had six kills and hit .308 to help UW to its first of two
straight-set victories over the weekend. She had seven kills for Wyoming, and a
team-best .600 hitting percentage, in addition to three total blocks against
Fresno State on Saturday.
Copeland has not only helped UW to its perfect 6-0 record at
home, but also its current three-match win streak. All six wins in the UniWyo
Sports Complex have come in straight-sets.
The Brown and Gold (9-6 overall, 2-0 MW) return to action
this Saturday, as UW travels to Utah State to continue MW play. First serve is
scheduled for 6 p.m. MT in Logan, Utah.
