Day 6 – The fifth installment of our Cowgirl Close-Up series focuses on last
season’s leading scorer, junior forward Shaina Ashouri.
Other than soccer, what is your favorite sport
to watch or play?
“Football,
because it’s hard not to love it when you grow up watching the Broncos”
Other than the Louis S. Madrid Complex, where
is your favorite place to play?
“Hawaii;
after playing at 7,220 feet, it feels like you can run for days down there”

show and what would it be?

What is your biggest pet peeve?
“When
you clearly get to a stop sign before another person, and they decide to go
ahead of you”
Do you have a special or secret talent?
“My
toes are double-jointed”
The Parker, Colorado native
led the Cowgirls through the 2015 campaign with a team-best nine goals and
seven assists, tying the single-season points record with 25. Ashouri notched
her first-career hat trick in a 3-0 win over Idaho State (9/18), and tallied
four game-winning goals on the year. Her impressive numbers earned her First
Team All-Mountain West and Third Team All-Pacific Region selections.
