Today marks the start of match week for Wyoming volleyball! As part of a non-conference three-match weekend, UW will begin its season at the Purdue Mortar Board Premier. The Cowgirls will face No. 20 Purdue, No. 24 Kentucky and Washington State to open the year.  

Wearing jersey No. 5 for the Cowgirls is senior outside hitter Kayla Slofkiss. She was named All-Mountain West for the first time in her career as a junior, and recorded a team-high 306 kills and 2.78 kills per set. Additionally, Slofkiss was the team-leader and second in the MW with 14 double-doubles.

Biggest pet peeve? Mouth-breathers.

#1 thing on your bucket list? Swimming with pigs in the Bahamas.

Favorite thing to do in Laramie? BBQ’s at the Washington Park sand court.

Other than volleyball, what about the Olympics do you like the most? Watching the reactions of athletes when they realize they’ve won.

Favorite athlete? Peyton Manning.

If one teammate had a reality show, who would it be? Laura Beach would have a cooking show with commentary in different unknown accents. This is a usual in our kitchen.
