ROOT
SPORTS and the Mountain West Conference announced on Thursday that
eight Mountain West football games will be televised by ROOT SPORTS
during the 2016 season. Two of those games will feature the Wyoming
Cowboys. The Pokes' Homecoming game versus Air Force on Oct. 8 will be
televised by ROOT SPORTS and will kick off at 1:30 p.m., Mountain Time.
UW's road game at UNLV on Nov. 12 will also be televised by the network
and will kick off at either 1:00 or 1:30 p.m., M.T. from Las Vegas.
The two games selected for television by ROOT SPORTS brings
the number of Wyoming football games to be televised in 2016 to 11.
The 2016 season marks the fourth year that ROOT SPORTS has been the
official regional television partner of the Mountain West.
All
ROOT SPORTS telecasts will be available on ROOT SPORTS in the Rocky
Mountain region, and some may also be available on ROOT SPORTS in the
Northwest and Southwest. Combined, the three regions reach nearly 10
million homes in 17 states.
ROOT SPORTS was nominated for two
regional Emmy Awards for its 2015 coverage of Mountain West football
(winners will be announced in July). The network also won an Emmy for
its coverage of the "Border War" between Wyoming and Colorado State in
2014. Marc Stout and Drew Goodman will split play-by-play duties again
in 2016, while Sherdrick Bonner will serve as analyst.
