Wyoming's Josh Adams has signed with the National Basketball Association's Denver Nuggets and will audition for his hometown team during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas July 8-18. It marks the second-season a Cowboy has played in the NBA Summer League, Larry Nance, Jr. played for the Los Angeles Lakers summer squad after being selected 27th overall in the NBA Draft in 2015.

A native of Parker, Colo., Adams averaged 24.7 points per game in 2015-16 for first in the Mountain West and third in the NCAA. He also paced the Pokes at 5.5 rebounds per contest, 4.2 assists and 1.5 steals, while ranking in the top 10 of 11 different MW statistical categories. His 3.2 threes per game also led the conference and ranked 15th in the nation.

He scored 740 points last season to break Wyoming's single-season record of 701 by Flynn Robinson in 1964-65. Adams also made 94 threes last season to rank second in Cowboy single-season history, which includes a school-record nine in Wyoming's win at Colorado State on Feb. 20. Other highlights for Adams include a career-high 38 points in Wyoming's victory at New Mexico on Jan. 16, the program's first win in The Pit since 2003.  He scored 30 or more in nine games and 20 or more in 21 contests during his senior season.

Adams earned Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America honors. The senior guard was the 17th Cowboy to be named an All-American and first since Josh Davis in 2002.

The Nuggets signee was also named All-MW First Team by the league's coaches, tabbed MW Player of the Year by the conference's media and claimed All-District honors from the U.S. Basketball Writers Association and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
