The University of Wyoming men's golf team is tied fourth after the second round of the Arizona National Invitational Tournament. The Pokes have a two-round score of 573 (-3) on the Omni Tucson National - Catalina Course in Tucson, Ariz. Senior Kamrin Allen shot the low score of the day for UW with a 71 (-1) and is tied for 19th in the 80-man field.
"It was a tougher day today," UW head coach Joe Jensen said. "But we are still in the mix of things. We are only three shots from second. Overall, I am still pleased by where we stand."
Sophomore Drew McCullough carded the second-best score for Wyoming with a 72 (E), however he leads the Cowboys overall with a 141 (-3) as he is tied 11th. Sophomore Arron Lickteig tallied a score of 73 (+1) and is tied for 26th. Junior Ryan Wallen and sophomore Quintin Pope rounded out the lineup for the Pokes as they shot 75 (+3) and 79 (+7), respectively. Sophomore Glenn Workman is competing as an individual and ended his day carding a 75 (+3) to tie for 30th.
Santa Clara leads the 14-team field after carding a 287 (-1) for round two and have an overall score of 565 (-11). Following the Broncos are the Nevada Wolfpack with a tally of 570 (-6). The 48th ranked New Mexico Lobos sit in third with a 572 (-4). Iowa State's Nick Voke leads the individual race after day two with a score of 133 (-11).
The Cowboys return tomorrow morning with the final round starting at 8 a.m. MT.
