Redshirt freshman Jerayah Davis ran the fifth-fastest 60 meters in school history to pace the University of Wyoming men's and women's track and field teams at the Potts Invite on Saturday in Balch Fieldhouse. The Cowboys and Cowgirls sent a handful of jumpers, sprinters and hurdlers to the first meet of the spring semester.

"I was really proud of Jerayah today," UW head coach Bryan Berryhill said. "This was just her second race in the last two years because of some adversity with injuries, so for her to run the fifth-fastest time is impressive. It makes us excited to see what she can do in the future."

Davis' personal best time of 7.58 in the 60 placed her second in the field on Saturday and moved her to fifth in Cowgirl history in the event in just her second meet in brown and gold. The Casper, Wyo., native's time currently ranks fourth in the Mountain West. Freshman Ashley Snyder was just behind her at 7.80 for third, while fellow freshman Jordan Edmonds was fourth in 7.82. The Cowgirls got event titles from junior Mikala Skates in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.06 and freshman Ja'la Henderson in the long jump with a leap of 18-11 3/4. Sophomore Day Timberman was runner-up in the triple jump at 36-10 1/4, while senior Sabina Sandberg was third in the high jump at 5-5.

For the Cowboys, senior Scott Carter won the triple jump with a season-best leap of 50-2 1/2, good for second in the MW this season, while freshman Kyle Alexander was second at 43-7 1/4. Junior Caleb Seeton was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.51 and freshman Ryan Younggreen was fifth at 8.98.
