The University of Wyoming women's golf team completed the second round of the MountainView Collegiate with a 594 (+18) on the MountainView course in Tucson, Ariz. Wyoming sits in 15th place in the 20-team field after a first round of 301 (+13) and a 293 (+5) for the second round, beating the Cowgirls lowest round of the season through 18-holes. Sophomore Taylor Dorans and junior Emily Woodard were the first Cowgirls to shoot a round each under-par this season with a rounds of 71 (-1) and 69 (-3), respectively, and are new career lows for both golfers. Woodard's round of 69 (-3) is tied for the fifth-lowest round in school history and the best since Juanita Rico shot 69 (-3) at the Nevada WolfPack Classic in 2011.

"It was an awesome day for the team in another stacked field," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "It really was a team effort but for Emily and Taylor to shoot career rounds, I just couldn't be happier for them."

Senior Samantha Stancato led the Cowgirls after two rounds after firing rounds of 73 (+1) and 72 (E) for a tally of 145 (+1). She is tied for 30th overall. Sophomore Taylor Dorans followed shooting rounds of 71 (-1) and 77 (+5), tying her at 45th place.

"This has been a marathon week and they have responded so well as a team to all I've asked of them. I look forward to another fun day tomorrow," Stender added.

Junior Emily Woodard turned in scores of 82 (+10) and 69 (-3), tying for 64th place. Sophomore Mackenzie Barrie ended the second round tied for 76th carding a score of 153 (+9). Ending the day for the Cowgirls was Gabrielle Gibson who added a tally of 161 (+17) with rounds of 79 (+7) and 82 (+10).

Florida International University leads the field after the second round with a 570 (-6). Iowa State's Chonlada Chayanun leads the individuals with a two-round total of 137 (-7).

The Cowgirls return tomorrow morning with an 18-hole round starting at 7 a.m. MT to conclude the tournament.
