NMSU Invtational - Day 3  

The University of Wyoming Cowgirl golf team wrapped up play at the New Mexico State Invitational Wednesday recording a final tally of 909 (+45). UW recorded a 306 (+18) in the final round on the par-72, 6,258-yard New Mexico State Golf Course. The Cowgirls finished in 13th place in the 14-team field.

"It was a mixed bag of things for us today. We seemed to struggle off the tee and it put us in difficult spots," UW head coach Josey Stender said. "I'm proud of the kids for hanging in there and we will focus on the things we excelled at and use them this weekend."

Senior Samantha Stancato led the Cowgirls finishing tied for 39th place in the 81-golfer field at 225 (+9). She tallied a 76 (+4) in the final round. Sophomores Taylor Dorans and Mackenzie Barrie tied for 51st with a three-round score of 229 (+13). They both turned in scorecards of 77 (+5) for the final round of play.

Redshirt freshman Gabrielle Gibson and freshman Sarah Hankins tied for 58th place at 231 (+15). Gibson fired a 76 (+4) in the final round with Hankins adding a 78 (+6). Junior Kathleen Kershisnik, playing as an individual, shot a 76 (+4) in the final round, as she tied for 51st at 229 (+13). Freshman Klara Castillo finished 74th with a three-round total of 240 (+24).

Idaho took the team title in impressive fashion recording an 850 (-14). Grand Canyon's Charlotte Jaengkit, Boise State's Samantha Martin and Idaho's Kaitlyn Oster tied for individual medalist honors at 206 (-10).

The Cowgirls head to the Denver University Ron Moore Invitational this weekend.
