Sophomore Kamrin Allen shot rounds of 80 (+8) and 73 (+1) to lead the University of Wyoming men's golf team on the opening day of the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate on Friday. Wyoming sits in 16th place in the 17-team field after the first two rounds at the UNM Championship Course. UW finished the day at 623 (+47), as the Cowboys carded rounds of 309 (+21) and 314 (+26).

"It is an incredible field here this weekend and the course is playing very tough," said UW head coach Joe Jensen. "We are right there and made some noise early and with a good round tomorrow we can catch a lot of teams."

Allen finished his day at 153 (+9), as he is tied for 40th place in the 104-man field. Senior Eddie Stewart is tied for 50th place after rounds of 74 (+2) and 80 (+8), as he ended the first day of action at 154 (+10). Senior Brent Baylon wrapped up play at 158 (+14) tying for 72nd place with scores of 81 (+9) and 77 (+5). Senior Eric Parish is tied for 86th place at 161 (+17) with tallies of 76 (+4) and 85 (+13). Junior Cameron Lindell rounded out the Cowboys' scoring with scores of 79 (+7) and 84 (+12), as he turned in a 163 (+19).

Arizona State sits in first place after the opening day at 571 (-5). New Mexico is in second place finishing at 582 (+6). BYU is in third place tallying a 591 (+15). UNLV and USC ended play at 593 (+17) tying for fourth place.

TCU's Julien Brun and Arizona State's Jon Rahm are tied for the individual lead at 140 (-4).
